What we can help with

  • Corrections. If something here is wrong or out of date, this is the most useful thing you can contact us about. A link to the source that shows it is ideal. Our corrections policy.
  • Accessibility. If something on the site does not work with your screen reader, keyboard or magnification, tell us what happened.
  • Something missing. If you looked for an answer and could not find it, that is worth knowing.
  • Press and research enquiries.

What we cannot help with

  • Whether you qualify for legal aid. Only the Legal Aid Agency, or a provider acting under its contract, can decide. Use the official checker and speak to a provider.
  • Advice on your case. We are not solicitors and this site is not a legal service. How to find a solicitor and where to get free advice.
  • Chasing an application. Speak to the provider who submitted it.
  • Anything urgent. We are not a helpline and we cannot respond quickly enough to be useful in a crisis. Urgent help.
